We can now announce that Glauca VPSes will be will be turned of on 2025-11-01, on this date, and any data saved until 2025-11-15 when it will be deleted from our systems.

In specific circumstances VPSes may be able to stay enabled past the cut off date, if you are unable to migrate elsewhere within the time frame. This will be offered on a case by case basis, Please reach out to bonzi if you wish would benefit from this.

Please see the last email with details on how to move to our preferred partner, Lagrange Cloud, or to anywhere else, which is available here.

Further to our previous email, Glauca VPS migration is continuing.

Our friends over at Lagrange Cloud have created a Onboarding flow for customers wanting to migrate their VPS to their systems. To do this, follow the instructions at https://lagrange.cloud/console/glauca 

After doing this, we will reach out to each customer to provide information on any changes to their VPS(es) that may need to be done, and schedule a timeframe with yourself in which to migrate the VPS over.

If you would like to migrate to Lagrange Cloud ASAP, please open a support ticket at https://support.as207960.net/ (using your Glauca account), and send your ticket number to bonzi@as207960.net or @bonzi in the Shark Corner Discord once the form has been completed and we will prioritise this.

Customers who would prefer to delete their VPS(es) outright, or migrate to a different provider, please follow the instructions for ASAP migration as well.

We are in the process of discontinuing our VPS services. As such, I am writing to inform you that we plan to discontinue VPS services by the end of the year.

We have come to an agreement with our good friends at Lagrange Cloud to migrate our customers over to their new Manchester site. Doing so will provide most of our users a free increase in specs to their VPS(es), for the same or cheaper cost.

This is of course not mandatory, and customers are welcome to migrate their services to another provider on their own, which we will be happy to support.

We will be in touch individually with a detailed migration plan in the coming days and weeks, outlying any changes you may need to make to your VMs, and instructions on how to sign up to Lagrange and authorise us to migrate your VPS(es) to them.

We thank you for using our services, and hope you will continue to use us in the future.

We will be migrating some of our infrastructure between datacenters this weekend, the 5th-6th of July.

During the migration, you can expect degrated services in some areas. Crucial services such as serving DNS zones and existing domain registrations will continue to function. If you have a VPS with us, you can expect that this will be rebooted, and experience some downtime.

As part of our constant effort to improve services, we have gained a new transit provider in our Leeds Colocation.

Previously we had a blend of AQL and Faelix transit, however Faelix left the DC a while ago, leaving us single-homed to AQL. Because of this, we've been searching for a new transit provider to enable more resilience for our customers.

From today, our transit blend now includes a partial table from Exa Networks, at no additional cost to you. Exa Networks have assured us, once they can provide us with a full table, they will enable it.

N.B.: Transit costs are subject to future changes depending on market conditions, however we will do our best to avoid this at all costs. This does not affect out VPS customers

As you may be aware, up until now, managing the RPKI on the prefixes and ASNs you’ve obtained through us involved emailing us. We’re please to make the Glauca RPKI portal available today to allow you to manage your ROAs and ASPAs without having to involve us.

You can access the portal today at rpki.glauca.digital. Specific guidance on setting up ASPAs can be found in our docs.

If you have resources from us but can’t see your CA in the portal we likely failed to match your resources to an SSO account, drop us an email at hello@glauca.digital and we’ll get the CA delegated to you. Make sure to authenticate your ticket with your SSO account.

As you may be aware the RIPE NCC membership voted in the latest General Meeting in May to introduce a yearly charge for ASNs. We voted against this charge, but unfortunately the wider membership did not agree with our view.

Until now we have only charged an assignment fee for ASNs as we do not have any work nor costs involved after it is assigned. This will now change; ASNs will include a 100GBP (at 20% UK VAT) charge billed every November. The yearly charge for PI space will also increase to 150 GBP (at 20% UK VAT).

If you already have an ASN assigned to us you will receive your first invoice this November 2024, it must be paid by December 2024 to maintain your ASN. If you no longer wish to maintain your ASN in light of this additional charge, please let us know before November. If you are happy to pay this additional yearly charge we would also appreciate you letting us know so we know the appropriate action to take.

This email serves as notice under section 4.2 of the Independent Assignment Request and Maintenance Agreement that we are modifying the Maintenance Fee. If you do not wish to continue with us as your LIR you are entitled to enter into an Independent Assignment Request and Maintenance Agreement with another LIR under clause 7.9 of our agreement.

We have been notified by CentralNIC Registry that they have experienced a potential security incident.

As of the writing of this email CentralNIC have not informed us of any theft of data or compromise of the security of any domains. We also have no evidence of unauthorised access to our systems, nor compromise of any data held by us.

CentralNIC is the registry operator for the following TLDs; if you do not have a domain in one of these TLDs you are entirely unaffected by this incident:

  • .fm
  • .fo
  • .pw
  • .vg
  • .gd
  • .gl

What we have done

Out of an abundance of caution we have rotated all passwords and security tokens related to CentralNIC, and are keeping a closer eye on matters to spot any potential malicious activity.

What is the impact on me

If you have a domain in one of the affected TLDs its transfer authorisation code has been rotated. This will likely have no effect on you but please bear in mind this may cause issues if and when you decide to transfer your domain; if such issues arise we’ll be more than happy to help resolve them with CentralNIC.

What action do I need to take

At the time we do not recommend that you take any additional action. We will be in touch if we learn more that is of concern.
